Following their timely arrival into Freyharbor, the Coalition regroups with Terran and Freyharbor's citizenry to secure the city. While Terran leads city forces to combat the undead directly in the market and clear a path forward, the Coalition ventures forward to reclaim the city's northern district, and mage tower.

As the city enclosed around the Coalition, the buildings began a transition. Once filled with humble homes and barely sustainable conditions, the city seems to take on a lighter air. Squalor replaced with eccentric excess, torn away by time and trial. Elven architecture of the city's origin peeking through into the modern day. Despite the Northern District's flourishes, it seemed abandoned by time and the city folk. Perhaps most noteworthy, the streets were found entirely devoid of undead, ominously vacant and barren, and the buildings appeared untouched by the incursion. Along the wind the smell of ozone oozed into the party's nostrils, and carrying a frosty aura.

Unabated by the scourge, the party arrived to the tower with little contest. Once there, the tower once more was devoid of undead, instead it's door was covered in a sheet of black ice, barring entry. Velaensia Runereaver was able to identify the magic within the wall and unleashed a floury of fiery magic, weakening it severely for the party's druid, Tierney, to transform into a bear and bombastically bear down against the boarded door. As the ice was shattered, it revealed a necrotic black sludge, the lingering magic from within the ice. Investigating onward, the Coalition discovered a frostbiting chill emerging from within. Books laid strewn across the floor, far more than the bottom level shelves could bear. An unnaturally groan echoed through the building as another book tumbled down the stairs.  Stealthily searching the stairwell, Mr. Comnall Dempsey discovered a skeletal mage searching through mounds and mounds of books, desperately trying to find something unknown.

A long fought battle ensued as the Coalition brought it's full might down to bear against the Bonemage. Through grit and determination, the party was able to force the Bonemage onto the defensive, quickly pushing it into death throes as it used magic to keep the party at bay. As the battle progressed they were able to recognize the magic sustaining it's defense and Lord Araellion Songheart shattered it's barrier with a bucket. Once defeated the party investigated the mage's belongings. Finding a mysterious necromantic book titled ‘grimwror’ in its possession. The makeshift grimoire was filled with scraps of paper, stolen from other tomes all detailing information on the third war, liches, and frost magic.

Victorious, the party descended the tower, precisely on time to discover Hazel, Terran's Raven familiar, fly through the door and vanish, leaving a missive behind. The missive from Terran urged the party to reconvene with the town's forces at the gates for a final push against the undead ...
